Receipt and Inspection of Order
- BEFORE stamping or otherwise marking any resource(s), the Customer must verify the shipment against the enclosed packing slip and their original order for accuracy. Once stamped or marked, the resources become the Customer's property and are no longer returnable to LRC.
If the resource is not returnable to LRC, please contact your district office for other options.
- After having inspected your order, should you need to return any portion of it, please do so as outlined in the next section, "Return and Replacement of Resources".
- The Customer must obtain prior authorization before returning any shipment, or portion thereof. Without prior authorization, handling may be delayed. [Return Request
]
- Provided the Customer notifies LRC
- within 60 days from invoice date, or
- by September 15 for EOD orders shipped prior to July 1, LRC will accept the return of items damaged in transit, shipped in error, or defective.
LRC, at its discretion, may deny any request for return after that time.
LRC will invoice the customer for any replacement item(s), and credit the customer's account on receipt of the defective item(s) at LRC.
- Unless the items are defective, shipped in error, or damaged in transit, a 15% restocking charge is applicable to all returns.
- LRC may accept other Customer returns, at its discretion, less the 15% restocking charge, if:
- the items are not stamped or marked,
- the items are in unused, resalable condition, and
- the items are still authorized for use by Alberta Education.
- Non-returnable items include:
- any resources ordered through the Special Order Service, order-on-demand items, or items withdrawn from authorization,
- any resources that are out-of-print (at LRC's discretion), and
- opened (i.e. where seals have been broken) cassettes/CD's/DVD's/software (including those that are part of print material), markdown or sale items, or incomplete sets/kits.
- Return Shipping Charges.
- LRC will pay return and replacement shipping charges for resources incorrectly shipped, defective, or damaged in transit.
- The shipping costs for all other returns are at the Customer's expense. Unauthorized, non-prepaid return shipping charges will be adjusted to the Customer's credit.
